October 23, 2015, Louisville, KY – Today, Robert A. (Bob) Burckle, Vice-President of WINSYSTEMS, Inc. received the 2015 Professional Award in Engineering from the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department of the University of Louisville, JB Speed School. This is the ECE department’s highest alumni award, and recognizes significant technical achievement and service to the community over the course of his career.
Bob graduated from the University of Louisville, J.B. Speed School of Engineering, with his BSEE and M. Eng. EE in 1973. He also earned his MBA from the University of North Texas in 1980. His professional career spans more than 40 years and he is recognized for his work in industrial embedded computer systems.
Bob volunteers with Character International. The purpose of Character International is to provide Character development training to educators and students in Russia, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe. The initial program was established 1999 at Volgograd State Pedagogical University (VSPU) in Volgograd, Russia. Since that time more than 100 seminars have been presented at universities in Ukraine, Hungary, Estonia, and Lithuania. These seminars are designed especially for university students who aspire to be primary and secondary school teachers. The goal is to teach student teachers the techniques of teaching character and values to children. Professors and university administrators are also invited to attend the seminar along with the students. All seminars and supplies are free of charge.
Mr. Burckle also works with Eastern European Mission (EEM). EEM provides Bibles and Biblical literature in more than 20 languages to nations of the former Communist Bloc. These materials are provided to individuals, mission churches, campaign groups and other organizations related to the Church that teach God’s Word in former communist nations. EEM (https://www.eem.org) also provides Biblical literature to families, children in youth camps, public universities, public schools, libraries, prisons, hospitals, orphanages and anywhere else Bibles are requested − all free to the recipients.
